 Purshitam Maas is commonly known as Adhik Maas or Mal Mas .  It is common believe . The Luner calendar add one extra month every year .

Auspisuos  Month Purshotam Maas  is starting from 17^th June 2015   and will end on 16^th July  2016

  Religious significance of this month in hindu religion is  that This month is capable of washing away all the sins of people (who observe the Vrat). During this month  fasting etc are undertaken and garments etc. are distributed to charities.  Mal Maas (Adhik Maas) is the month for Vishnu puja. The recitation of Srimad Bhagavat Purana and of the Bhagavad Gita during this month produce top meritorious results. 

 This Month is not considerd good for  any new beginning , marriage and new ventures .
